India Wins Women’s 4×100m Relay Gold at New Taipei City Athletics Open 2026

HRDS INDIA Sports Academy’s S. S. Sneha plays a key role as India equals the Championship Record

India’s women’s 4×100m relay team delivered an outstanding performance to win the gold medal at the New Taipei City Athletics Open 2026, a World Athletics Continental Tour Silver Meet, clocking 44.07 seconds to equal the Championship Record.

The Indian quartet of Srabani Nanda, S. S. Sneha, Tamanna, and Sudekshina combined speed, precision, and excellent baton exchanges to secure victory against a competitive international field. The meet, held annually at Banqiao Stadium in New Taipei City, Taiwan, is part of the World Athletics Continental Tour and provides athletes with valuable world ranking points and international competition experience.

India executed the race with remarkable efficiency. Srabani Nanda provided a strong opening leg before handing over to S. S. Sneha, who ran a crucial second leg, maintaining momentum and ensuring a smooth baton transition. Tamanna and Sudekshina completed the final two legs with confidence and composure, guiding India to a gold-medal-winning finish and a Championship Record-equalling performance.

For HRDS INDIA Sports Academy, the achievement carries special significance as S. S. Sneha continues to emerge as one of India’s leading sprint athletes. The National Champion at the Goa National Games, Sneha has a personal best of 11.41 seconds in the 100 metres and has become a regular member of India’s national relay teams through consistent performances at both national and international competitions.

Earlier this year, Sneha represented India at the World Athletics Relays 2026, held at the Botswana National Stadium in Gaborone, Botswana, on May 2–3, 2026. She competed in both the Women’s 4×100m Relay and the 4×100m Mixed Relay, demonstrating her versatility and value to the national relay programme.

A major highlight of the World Relays was India’s performance in the 4×100m Mixed Relay, where the team established a new National Record. Sneha was an integral member of that record-breaking relay squad, contributing to one of the most significant achievements in recent Indian sprint relay history.

Her international success has been building steadily. In 2025, she was part of the Indian team that won the silver medal at the Asian Athletics Championships in South Korea. During the same season, she also helped India secure gold at a World Athletics Continental Tour Silver Meet in Taiwan, further strengthening her international credentials.

The latest victory in New Taipei City reflects the growing depth and quality of Indian women’s sprint relays. The performances of Srabani Nanda, Sneha, Tamanna, and Sudekshina demonstrated not only individual speed but also the technical excellence, synchronization, and relay discipline required for success at the international level.

For HRDS INDIA Sports Academy, Sneha’s continued rise is a testament to the effectiveness of long-term athlete development, scientific training, and high-performance coaching. Her journey from national champion to international medalist and national record holder serves as an inspiration for the next generation of Indian athletes.

As Indian athletics continues to make progress on the global stage, achievements such as this reinforce the nation’s growing competitiveness in sprint relay events and provide optimism for future success at major continental, world, and Olympic competitions.
